兵庫県豊岡市に位置する大型歴史的複合施設「とゞ兵」。
廃業した老舗高級料亭を複合施設として再生し、音楽やアート、イベントなど多彩な文化の発信拠点に生まれ変わりました。
施設内には、イベントスペース、レンタルスペース、カフェ、ギャラリー、コワーキングスペースなどがあり、新しい豊岡の文化の発信拠点として、人が集まり、人と人が出会ってつながる場所を提供していきます。
今まで豊岡になかった活用方法で、豊岡の新しい遊び場をつくります。
From Traditional High-Class Restaurant to a Cultural Hub
“Todohyo” is a large historical complex located in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture. This space has been reborn from a former high-end traditional restaurant into a multi-purpose facility and now serves as a vibrant cultural hub, offering music, art, and various events. Inside the facility, you’ll find event spaces, rental spaces, a cafe, a gallery, and a co-working space. As a new cultural focal point for Toyooka, it provides a place where people can gather, meet, and connect. With an innovative approach that Toyooka hasn’t seen before, Todohyo is creating a new playground for the community.
とゞ兵の歴史
1929年 料亭「とゞ兵」の誕生
当時、京都でビジネスを展開していた中江種造氏が自身の遊び場としてこの土地を購入し、京都の料理人とともに料亭「とゞ兵」を創業。
宴会や結婚式場として、地元で人気の高級料亭となる。
2010年 取り壊し計画が検討
時代の変化とともに経営が困難となり、取り壊しが検討される。
2018年 複合施設としての再生計画スタート
この建物に可能性を感じた現オーナー 小山が再生計画をスタート。
関わる人を増やしていくことで、多くの人の力でこの場所を運営できる仕組みづくりを考案。
2021年1月 兵庫県景観形成重要建造物に認定
建物の価値を向上させるため、『兵庫県景観形成重要建造物』に申請し、認定を取得。
2021年8月 建築大学生との改修チャレンジ
芝浦工業大学と青山学院大学、日本大学の建築学生とともに建物の改修をスタート。
クラウドファンディングにも挑戦しながら耐震補強を進める。
現在 豊岡のにぎわい拠点として
音楽やアート、野外イベントやマルシェなど、新しい豊岡の文化の発信拠点として、人が集まり、交流する新しい遊び場に。
施設内には、イベントスペース、レンタルスペース、レンタルキッチン、カフェ、ポップアップショップ、レストラン、カバンショップ、オフィス、コワーキングスペースなどが揃っています。
The History of Todohyo
1929: Establishment of the Todohyo Restaurant
Todohyo restaurant was established by Shuzo Nakae, a businessman active in Kyoto at the time, who purchased the land as his personal leisure space and started the restaurant with chefs from Kyoto. It quickly gained popularity in the region as a high-class venue for banquets and weddings.
2010: Consideration of Demolition
With changing times, the restaurant faced difficulties in continuing its operations, leading to plans for its demolition.
2018: Start of the Revitalization Plan as a Multipurpose Facility
Current owner Koyama, seeing the potential in the building, began a revitalization project. By increasing the number of people involved, a system was devised to manage the space with the help of many hands.
January 2021: Designated as a Hyogo Prefecture Important Landscape Building
In order to protect Todohyo’s legacy, an application for its designation as a “Hyogo Prefecture Historic Landmark” was submitted and approved.
August 2021: Renovation Challenge with Architecture Students
In collaboration with architecture students from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Aoyama Gakuin University, and Nihon University, renovation work began. At the same time, a crowdfunding campaign was launched to support the seismic strengthening of the building.
Present: A Hub for the Revitalization of Toyooka
Today, Todohyo serves as a new cultural hub for Toyooka, hosting music, art, outdoor events, and markets, while bringing people together and fostering interaction. The facility includes event spaces, rental spaces, a rental kitchen, a café, pop-up shops, a restaurant, a bag shop, offices, and a co-working space.

大手コンビニチェーンの施工や、日本国内にとどまらず、海外の様々な店舗・施設の空間デザインを手掛けています。
海外にある歴史的建造物を活用したアートコンプレックスをテーマに、既成概念に囚われない商業、文化、エンターテイメントを融合させた豊岡のにぎわい拠点づくりを目指して取り組んでいます。
